At Council for Development of Cambodia, Oknha Song Saran, Chairman of the Board of the Cambodia Rice Federation, 5 Vice Presidents of the Cambodia Rice Federation, and Mr. Patrick Murphy, Executive Vice President of Rice and Grains/Global Sourcing at Otis McAllister, Inc., paid a courtesy visit and had a work discussion with H.E. Mr. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice-Chairman of the Council for Development of Cambodia.
At the Cambodia Rice Federation, Oknha Song Saran, Chairman of the Board of the Cambodia Rice Federation, and the members of the Cambodia Rice Federation attended a meeting with Mr. Patrick Murphy, Executive Vice President of Rice and Grains/Global Sourcing at Otis McAllister, Inc., to discuss the Cambodia rice sector and rice exports to the US.
In Sihanoukville, the Cambodian Rice Federation held its sixth board meeting of the fourth mandate, chaired by Oknha Song Saran, Chairman of the Board of the Cambodian Rice Federation, and Chan Sokheang, President of the Cambodian Rice Federation.
Oknha Song Saran, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cambodia Rice Federation, and Oknha Chan Sokheang, President of the Cambodia Rice Federation, led the members of the Cambodia Rice Federation to attend the 47th Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP) Annual Meeting at the Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeetra Hotel.
At the Business Development Center, the Cambodia Rice Federation, represented by Oknha Chan Sokheang, President of the Cambodia Rice Federation, signed a memorandum of understanding with Mr. Wong Keet Long, CEO of the Credit Guarantee of Cooperation of Cambodia, which was presided over by H.E. Ros Seilava, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF)

Every two years, the Cambodia Rice Federation always hosts the biggest rice-related event called “The Cambodia Rice Forum,” and this year, the Cambodia Rice Forum 2024 is going to be held on September 10, 2024, at the Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeetra Hotel. The Cambodia Rice Forum 2024 is going to be presided over by Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, and ministers from related ministries, including H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul, Minister of the Ministry of Commerce; H.E. Dith Tina, Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry; and H.E. Mr. Hem Vanndy, Minister of the Ministry of Industry, Technology, Science, and Innovation.


The Cambodia Rice Forum 2024 is the biggest rice sector related event that is going to be held on 10th September 2024 at the Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeetra Hotel. This year’s theme is “Transforming The Cambodia Rice Supply Chain to Be Resilient, Sustainable and Inclusive”.

The objectives of the Cambodia Rice Forum 2024 are to:

  1. to mainly promote paddy, rice production, and rice export on a new, bigger scale and pace into the global market
  2. to bring the forefront various key players of the Rice Value Chain to seek viable solutions
  3. to explore and take stock of the current and critical steps taken so far by various public and private local institutions in the pursuit of the export target set as well as dwell into the challenge posed
  4. to update the progress of Cambodia's rice supply chain development and its challenges, its trends and roles, and its effects and position in the global rice market.

GOVERNANCE AND STRUCTURE OF SRP NATIONAL CHAPTER

The SRP National Chapter of Cambodia, with technical supports from the SRP Global, is an autonomous entity with freedom to operate, lead, offer services, and set up membership structure, whitle followingthe guidelines and protocol of the Global SRP and while remaining in alignment with SRP's mission. The National Chapter is co-chaired by GDA and CRF and the Secretariat is hosted by CRF.

The governance board consists of representatives from GDA, CRF, Swisscontact, WCS, and CIRAD and will be extended to other organizations upon the approval of the current governance boards. The Secretariat will be four operating units: (1) membership and fund-raising unit, (2) market promotion and facilitation unit, (3) research and technical extension unit and (4) inspection and certification unit. The first two units are led by CRF and the other two units are led by GDA.
