Cambodia Rice Federation (CRF), on 10 February 2020, organized an internal meeting among members, circulating all related parties in rice sector, in purpose of collection inputs about challenges and suggestions to raise up in the meeting with ministry of agriculture,

In January 2020, Cambodia export rice in the total amount of 50,450 tonnes abroad, of that, 91 per cent was fragrant rice (46,006 tonnes) and the rest (9%) was long grain white rice (4,444 tonnes) .The export in this January 2020 is decreased by 15 per cent, generating in 9,175 tonnes.
EU remains the main source of Cambodian rice exports, representing 37 per cent of the total, followed by China (33%), ASEAN (11%), and other destinations take the remainder (22%).

The quality of seed is still a debatable topic in rice sector. Cambodia Rice Federation (CRF) have been working hand to hand with related sectors and organizations in order to improve the quality of seed and also finding the market for the seed producer. Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is one of CRF’s partners that have been continuously cooperating in many such important programs in rice sector mainly on rice’s seed.
